Hello all! :) I hope you had a spectacular week! Mine sure was!
This Thursday we had the opportunity to hear from Wilford W. Andersen of the 2nd quorum of the Seventy. It was a wonderful and uplifting meeting. In a leadership meeting prior to the main training he talked about how disciples of Christ are different leaders than those of the world. In the world power flows from leaders. In the Lord's Kingdom power flowsto the leaders because they are meek, humble, hopeful, faithful, and filled with charity. We talked about Doctrine and Covenants 121:41-46 as the model of good leaders. I have a lot to work on! :)
41 No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion (sharing knowlege and listening to one another), by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;
42 By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile—
43 Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy;
44 That he may know that thy faithfulness is stronger than the cords of death.
45 Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.
46 The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever.
During the main training meeting we learned about head knowledge, heart knowledge and soul knowledge (putting head and heart knowledge to action).
I was honored to be able to sing "Savior Redeemer of My Soul" during the meeting. Elder Seegmiller played the violin and Elder Smith played the piano (he arranged the whole musical number.) I love singing the hymns because it brings the Spirit so strongly. :)
I wish you all could have heard the arrangement, it was beautiful. (it was a lot like the one in Seventeen Miracles).
Have a lovely week!
Love, Sister Lewis
